ILEARN measures student achievement and growth according to Indiana Academic Standards. I AM measures student achievement and growth according to Indiana’s Content Connectors aligned to the Indiana Academic Standards. I AM is the summative accountability assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities in grades 3-8 and 10. It assesses: English/Language Arts (Grades 3-8 and 10); Mathematics (Grades 3-8 and 10); Science (Grades 4, 6, and Biology); Social Studies (Grade 5).

Indiana Statewide Testing of Educational Progress (ISTEP +) ECA
The purpose of the Algebra I and English 10 End of Course Assessments (ECAs) is to serve as the graduation examination requirement for the class of 2018. Every Indiana student in the 2018 cohort and prior must demonstrate mastery of the Indiana Academic Standards assessed by these ECAs. ISTEP+ ECA assesses the following:English/Language Arts; Mathematics

End of Course Assessment (ECA)
Aligned with Indiana’s Academic Standards these assessments are final exams measuring what students know and do upon completion of targeted courses Algebra I and English 10  Students in grade twelve who did not pass ECA are given two testing sessions per school year. 

English Learner Assessment (WIDA)
The purpose of the English Learner assessment is to determine a student's level of English proficiency. The placement test, administered upon the student's arrival in the United States, is used to determine the EL services appropriate for the student. The annual assessment, administered in January and February, is used to determine the student's current level of English proficiency and for accountability purposes.

The purpose of the Indiana Reading Evaluation And Determination (IREAD-3) assessment is to measure foundational reading standards through grade three. Based on the Indiana Academic Standards, IREAD-3 is a summative assessment given to all third grade students, that was developed in accordance with House Enrolled Act 1367

Cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) — often shortened to PSAT — is a standardized test targeting 10th and 11th graders across the U.S. 

Indiana Formative Assessment Tools
MSD of Steuben County has selected NWEA for E/LA and Math for formative assessments.  These formative tools monitor students' growth toward meeting state standards and are given three times per year.
