Students work in small groups on pumpkin social studies project.

Happy Friday Cardinals:

The saying “time flies by when you’re having fun” definitely is true at Carlin Park! We can’t believe that it is already nearing the end of September! Here are some highlights from our week of learning and growing:

4th and 5th Grade Field Trip: Our 4th and 5th graders traveled back in time at the American History Days in Commons Park. Live reenactment brought the past to the present. Our students enjoyed lots of learning and beautiful weather!

3rd Grade Fall Fun: Our 3rd grade students connected math and social studies with fall fun! They painted pumpkins to represent the different continents and then used their multiplication skills to make applesauce. We love being able to connect standards to real life experiences!

5th Grade Guest Speaker: Eva Curtis from Little River Wetlands Project visited Mr. Dunn’s class this week to talk about her environmental work conducted through the 5 Star Grant Project. Students were able to participate in a hands-on way!

Have a wonderful weekend!
