While our students enjoyed a sunny day of play, our dedicated teachers and staff were hard at work enhancing their skills. They spent the morning engaged in training sessions and the afternoon participating in breakout sessions on various subjects, all led by their fellow colleagues.

This week, students at Angola Elementary schools were presented with an exciting opportunity by Mackenzie Otter with the city of Angola Mayor's office. The City is hosting a design contest for this year's Christmas card. Each student has the option to submit one hand-drawn picture. The City Art Council will review all submissions and select one winner from each school. The lucky winners will have their artwork featured on 25 Christmas cards, along with a festive stocking filled with goodies. It's a wonderful chance to showcase creativity and spread holiday cheer! It is a great way to celebrate Day 2 of Arts in Education Week.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are writing to inform you about a situation that occurred today. Our school administration was made aware of a possible threat to the safety of our school community. Please rest assured that after a thorough investigation conducted in cooperation with local law enforcement, the threat was determined to be not credible. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. We are taking all necessary precautions and working closely with authorities to ensure the continued safety of everyone on our campus. School will continue as scheduled, and all activities will proceed as planned. Thank you to our law enforcement partners, our school community, teachers, and students in staying vigilant in keeping our schools safe.

Your hard work and kindness make such a difference in our school community! You are HeroMakers!

Principal, Mr. Stellhorn came to visit all Kindergarten classrooms at Hendry Park. He was our Friend of the Day and shared his favorite things with the students! The students listened, interviewed, drew a picture and wrote his name. We turned our writings into a book for him :)

Tomorrow is Wednesday, and it's our first one hour delay for professional learning of the school year! All buildings start one hour later, buses run one hour later, but drop off at the regular time is available if needed. This will happen every Wednesday during the school year.

Hendry Park Highlights - Students filled the halls on Wednesday of last week. Directions were given, teachers were smiling, friends were greeted, lunch was eaten and time was taken to try out the new hammock reading corner. #steubenstories
