Elementary Career Fair

On Friday April 15th, construction workers, medical personnel, civil servants and many local businesses joined with MSD for Career Day.

Elementary students traveled to the central gym and Hendry Park where they were greeted with tables displaying information about different careers.  As the students checked out the booths they were welcomed by friendly professionals, who shared information on their careers. Most booths were also interactive, students were able to check out teeth molds, simulate CPR and program modeling cameras to name a few.

One of the event coordinators, Ms. Marlene Ewen, was quoted as saying “ MSD of Steuben County's inaugural Elementary Career Fair was a grand success.  The Elementary Guidance Department is very thankful for all the support we received from the community:  some by spending a day showcasing their careers, others by providing food and beverages, and for the many donations that helped make this day a success.  We appreciate the support from our administration, support staff and custodians that helped make this day a success.  It was a showcase of a Village working together to help raise our children and help them grow into successful and contributing adults”.

Students' interests were sparked as they learned from our finest local healthcare workers, public service, hospitality, technology, and more. Present were: Angola Police Department & “Zara”, Angola Fire Department, Steuben County EMS, Angola Street Department, Miller Poultry, Cameron Hospital, Dr. Dellinger, Fifth Third Bank, JICI, All Paws & Claws, Pawsitively Paradise, Brightmark, Herald Republican, Angola Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge, Wayside Furniture, Delta T, Professional Athlete, Purdue Extension, Junior Achievement
