Students in Miss Wiyrickās class kicked off a fun and creative project on Friday! After reading the story Rent Party Jazz, students designed their own album covers that captured the main idea of the story. Along the way, they also had the chance to explore records and vintage albums, learning about music and art from another time.
What a great way to blend reading, creativity, and historyāthese young artists did an amazing job bringing the story to life! šØšµ

Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and we would like to take a moment to thank our local Police and Sheriffās Departments. We are grateful not only for the important work you do every day to keep our community safe, but also for the many ways you support our school district. From providing escorts around the mound for our teams as they head to competition to visiting our schools to interact with and educate our students, your presence makes a meaningful difference. We are especially thankful for the partnership that allows us to have two outstanding School Resource Officers in our schools each day. Thank you for your continued dedication and support.

"The Metropolitan School District of Steuben County is proud to celebrate a 97.79% rate. The success is the result of a strong team effort among dedicated students, staff, and parents committed to academic excellence."
- Superintendent Matt Widenhoefer

The Elementary schools were a buzz before winter break as 5th graders competed in the school spelling bees. For many students, just getting up in front of the class and judges was an accomplishment. The students gave it their best shot while fellow students cheered them on. The words continued to get more complex until finally the best speller was found. The top speller in each school will go on to the next level. One speller told me he was so excited because his grandmother had won the spelling bee, and now he was able to compete. Great job to all our spellers and good luck to our winners Genevy, Matthew and Safeer!

Even though the classrooms were still empty, our teachers were hard at work today preparing for next semester. We canāt wait to see everyoneās smiling faces tomorrow!

Thank you! School Board!

Have a fun, safe evening!

Just before break, the Angola High School girls basketball team invited alumni to join them for a morning practice. While turnout was small this year, the team hopes to grow the event and make it an annual tradition. They also paused to take some fun team photos to share on a team Christmas card.
