Carlin Park Elementary

Today is National School Instructional Assistant Day, and even though we are on spring break, we did not want the day to pass without saying thank you! Whether it is at the pick-up line, in the classroom, or out on the playground, our instructional assistants are always there for our students and teachers. Their dedication is a tremendous asset to our schools. We look forward to celebrating them in person when we return from break.

For nearly 20 years, Brandy has shown incredible dedication to our district. She brings passion and leadership to her classroom and is an inspiration to both her students and fellow teachers. We are proud to recognize her with this honor.

Last night we were supposed to have Author's Night, but the electricity went out. We are having Author's Night tonight (March 12) from 4:00-6:00. So sorry for the short notice, but didn't want to miss this opportunity for parents to visit the book fair and read student work.

We are cancelling ALL after school events due to a power outage. This includes all clubs, Author's Night, book fair, Basecamp, and ANY OTHER activity. We will look at rescheduling events at a later time.

We are so excited to welcome our first group of kindergarteners tonight for Kindergarten Roundup! If you haven't signed up yet, there are still several opportunities to attend:

On Monday, players from the Trine hockey women's and men's teams came to Carlin Park as part of the P.E. unit on hockey. The students really enjoyed learning and playing with them. Thank you, Mrs. Case, for organizing this. Also, thanks to Trine Hockey, all students were sent home with a free ticket to attend the Friday, February 7th game at Thunder Ice Arena at 4:00 P.M.!

It is nice to have our kids in the building again! Yesterday, we had a hot chocolate celebration for those who met attendance goals. Thank you parents for encouraging kids to be at school when we are in-person, and for helping at home when we are virtual!

Happy School Counselor's Week to Mrs. Perkins! Carlin Park is lucky to have such a kind and skilled counselor to work with our students, families and staff. It's such a joy to pause and recognize all that she does.
