The Girls +1 Dance on Saturday was such a great time! Kudos to our dads, moms, uncles, aunts, grandparents, and even older brothers who danced and hula hooped the night away. Many thanks to our Booster Club members who spent many hours on this event for our students!

This week we celebrated our amazing I.A. staff as well as Mrs. Jenn Craig our media specialist. These ladies work tirelessly for our students. Thank you for playing such an important role in our Carlin Park family

"Whether it's fostering literacy, creating safe spaces, providing valuable resources, supporting teachers, caring for books, or teaching digital literacy, we deeply appreciate everything our media specialists do. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!"

Mrs. Pugh's kindergarten class used their creativity to build mouse habitats. They were very excited to get toy mouses to try them out!

During STEAM class our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students participated in a March Madness style bracket tournament to see who was the fastest typer in each class. Each winner got their picture taken in the winner's circle with their award.

Our paraprofessionals are true difference-makers, and our classrooms simply wouldn’t function without their dedication and support. Thank you for all that you do!

We have 2 events coming up at Carlin Park- the Girls +1 Dance and our annual Book Fair. See below for details:
The Girls +1 dance is this Saturday, April 5, from 2-4pm. Please sign your girl up to come to the dance. It is $10 for each family. You can send money to the school, or you can pay at the door. There will be a 50/50 raffle, DJ, and photo booth at the dance! We hope to see a lot of Carlin Park girls there.
Our Scholastic Book Fair begins next week, April 7-11. Teachers have signed up for times that their class will shop. Your teacher will let you know what date the class will be shopping. The book fair is open from 8:15am until 2:30pm. Our Morning with MVPs is April 9 from 7:30-8:45am. Come join us for breakfast and book fair shopping. Our Family Game Night is April 10 from 3:30-5:00pm. Come join us for games and book fair shopping! The last day of the book fair is April 11.

Last evening, each of our elementary schools hosted a Title I Night called the Amazing Reading Race! Students read clues with their families and raced around the building to find teachers that shared about the five pillars of literacy. Families also got materials to practice and take home to continue practicing reading skills at home. The partnership between teachers, students, and families are game changing for student success!

Congratulations to Dawn Rowe, Carlin Park's Teacher of the Year! Her dedication, enthusiasm, and passion for learning are truly appreciated and make her an invaluable asset to our school!

A sure sign of spring...
Today the weather was PERFECT for recess. Tomorrow the temperature will be in the 30s during that time. Please continue to send your children with coats as the Indiana weather keeps us guessing from day to day. Thank you!

IREAD reports were mailed by your child's school office staff this week. If you have a second grade student or a student who has yet to pass the IREAD assessment, you should receive a report via mail shortly.
For additional information about the IREAD assessment, please visit: sites.google.com/msdsc.us/iread-resources/home
If you'd like to explore tutoring options for your child, please call your child's school. They can provide you with details on availability.

2nd and 3rd grade families- IREAD results were mailed home today from each elementary school in the district. You should find it in the mail tomorrow or Wednesday. Your student may have brought home something from their teacher as well. We are VERY proud of ALL of our students!

Was that a lucky leprechaun we saw today? ☘️ No, it was just Mrs. Priller delivering gold coins she picked up at the end of a rainbow!🌈
