MSD of Steuben County

Five 2024 Angola grads completed the Indiana College Core (ICC) with 60 or more credits to earn associate degrees. The ICC consists of general education core courses that are part of the Indiana Core Transfer Library. Students completed the ICC through high school dual credits, AP courses, and Dual Enrollment opportunities with Ivy Tech Community College and Trine University. 20 other graduates completed 30 or more credits.

OPS (Optimal Performance Sports) spent the 2nd day at our football field. Todays session worked on speed and agility. Coach Thomas, Dr. Jason Russell and head trainer Zach Thiele lead the session. Great Job AHS Athletes and Thank You OPS!

MSD of Steuben County joined together with Navigate 360 to host ALICE Training. Participants from around the area including AHS admin learned with hands-on training. ALICE Training by Navigate360, begun in 2000, ALICE Training® is a widely adopted, effective method of active shooter response training. ALICE Training® is now a part of Navigate360’s suite of safety programs for schools, workplaces and other communities. Navigate360 offers comprehensive solutions for active shooter preparedness and other safety and emergency measures. Together, these solutions usher in a new era where people replace fear and hopelessness with preparation and readiness in the face of violence.

STEUBEN'S GOT DRAMA! This is an academic enrichment summer camp for students entering grades 1-8 in the fall of 2024, funded by the Literacy Coalition's 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. 8:30 - 12:30, Monday - Friday. Students will have the opportunity to engage in an exciting enrichment opportunity to experience the joy of theater and the performing arts. Every student will get the opportunity to participate, regardless of experience. This is a FREE camp for participants (no t-shirts will be given this year). STEUBEN SPACE ACADEMY! Each week will contain different hands-on science activities. Camp is totally free and open to anyone, regardless of school. 8-Noon, Monday through Friday, Rain or Shine. Steuben County Literacy Coalition’s K Camp Free summer camps will be held for incoming Fall 2024 Kindergarten students. The Steuben County United Way funds these programs. Snacks will be provided. Parent transportation to/from the program is required. The program is free! Congratulations to our Seniors!! Class of 2024 spent the morning visiting the Elementary and Middle School then stopped at the mound for the traditional photo op. They then headed back to the high school for graduation practice. Graduation is Thursday, May 30th at 7 pm. It will be held on the football field weather permitting.

Reminder: There is no 1 hour delay tomorrow morning for the last day of school. School will start at the normal time tomorrow.
