February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Awareness Month!
At our high school, we take pride in providing students with the opportunity to provide pathways for students to earn certifications in fields like hospitality, education, manufacturing, and agriculture, all while gaining hands-on experience. Our CTE teachers have many years of experience and guide our students who may join the workforce immediately after graduation or pursue higher education in their chosen field. We are also fortunate to partner with Impact Institute providing even more opportunities, including welding, automotive repair, and marine service. Our students are equipped to enter the workforce immediately after graduation or pursue higher education in their chosen field. Have a good day off. Stay warm. See you Tuesday!!

MSDSC would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible School Resource Officers (SROs). We are truly fortunate to have two dedicated officers who work each day to support and protect our students.
Officer Lanoue from the Steuben County Sheriff's Office is stationed at our High School. His leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to our school community are deeply appreciated. And letās not forgetāhis role as the unofficial rollercoaster director brings an extra level of fun to our students!
Officer Noll with the Angola City Police serves at the Middle School, where he fosters a safe, friendly environment. His presence not only ensures security but also brings a smile to the faces of students and staff alike.
Thank you both for your hard work, dedication, and the positive impact you have on our school community every single day!

Despite snowy roads and frigid temperatures, our dedicated teachers came together for a day of learning and collaboration! The day kicked off at 7:30 am with a presentation from guest speaker Mari McHenry. Our team was then introduced to the SIOP program, which will be integrated into lessons to help all students achieve their highest potential.
The day was packed with sessions led by our incredibly skilled staff, covering topics like ef lesson preparation and strategies. It all wrapped up with small group meetings, where our team had the opportunity to brainstorm and discuss how to implement these valuable insights into their classrooms.
Weāre so proud of our educators for their commitment to growth and making sure every student succeeds!

Pigskin Geography is a collaborative learning opportunity for Hendry Park 5th graders. About once a week during football season, students gathered to use maps of all types and the current week's NFL schedule to learn and practice geography, math, and reading skills. They learn about state locations, nicknames, abbreviations, and which states and cities have NFL teams. They learn about highways, time zones, rivers, climates, populations, and more. Just before Thanksgiving break, we celebrated all of their hard work with a tailgate party! Traditional tailgate foods were provided and there were board games, cards, puzzles, and yard games for lots of fun.
