Students in Ms. Hartman's class at Ryan Park have spent the past few weeks learning about life cycles while caring for chicken eggs. The chicks have finally arrived, and now the students have the unique opportunity to touch or hold these little creatures—an experience many would never have had otherwise.

Our 7th Graders had an exciting opportunity today to explore careers in the medical field! A big thank you to Cameron Hospital for generously sharing your time, knowledge, and incredible demonstrations. It was a fun and inspiring experience for our students—who knows, we may have some future doctors, nurses, or technicians in the making!

Yesterday, AHS Juniors and Seniors participated in a powerful and educational event: a staged mock crash organized as part of the "Choice Matters" program. This impactful demonstration, held every two years, aligns with prom preparations to highlight the dangers of drinking and driving. As prom and graduation celebrations approach, the issue of alcohol-related accidents becomes even more pressing. Statistics show that approximately 20% of teen driving accidents involve alcohol, with one-third of those occurring in the critical months of April, May, and June. A special thank you SRO Bill Lanoue organizing it and to the following organizations for their crucial support in making this event possible: Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Angola City Police Department, Indiana State Police, Steuben County EMS, Angola Fire Department, Steuben County Coroner's Office, Steuben County EMA, Bill’s Professional Towing, Weicht Funeral Home, and volunteers Chad Zerkle and Garry Osborn. Your dedication helps raise awareness and ensures the safety of our community.
