All MSDSC staff members are deeply committed to student success and achievement. Last week, Dr. Schauna Relue, our Assistant Superintendent, demonstrated this dedication by working directly with elementary students, helping them develop essential skills and strategies. Her hands-on approach exemplifies our district-wide commitment to supporting every student's educational journey.

Our third-grade students were thrilled to participate in Junior Achievement's 'Our City' program! These engaging lessons introduced financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and key social studies conceptsāteaching students how people manage money and the importance of economic exchange within a community. The children loved learning through these fun, interactive sessions led by Mrs. Danic. #SmallCommunityBigOpportunities #SuperExcitedMSDSC

Our Assistant Principals are the BEST!

"Whether it's fostering literacy, creating safe spaces, providing valuable resources, supporting teachers, caring for books, or teaching digital literacy, we deeply appreciate everything our media specialists do. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!"

Mrs. Robertson's class at Ryan Park spent time Tuesday searching for the elusive Looflipra bird. Each student had a carrot in hand as they walked around the playground, hoping to make the bird appear. After a while and a few more clues, the students realized that Looflipra is actually April Fool spelled backward. This fun adventure got the students outside while encouraging them to use their critical thinking skills.

This weekend (April 5th), four of our talented students ā Daniel Koch, Kaden Klink, Kiara Hohenberger, and Cannon Justice ā will be competing at the State Science Fair at IU Indianapolis! š
Daniel and Kaden have been testing AIs like ChatGPT, Meta AI, and DeepSeek to analyze court transcripts and predict verdicts with accuracy. The future goal is to use technology in low-profile, civil, and family cases.
Kiara and Cannon, on the other hand, dove deep into the world of therapy. They explored EMDR therapy and compared it with traditional behavioral therapy. Their work looks at the future of mental health treatment and how these therapies could evolve.
Weāre incredibly proud of all four of them and canāt wait to see what theyāll accomplish! Best of luck at the State Science Fair! #SuperExcitedMSDSC#SmallCommunityBigOpportunities

Our paraprofessionals are true difference-makers, and our classrooms simply wouldnāt function without their dedication and support. Thank you for all that you do!

Last evening, each of our elementary schools hosted a Title I Night called the Amazing Reading Race! Students read clues with their families and raced around the building to find teachers that shared about the five pillars of literacy. Families also got materials to practice and take home to continue practicing reading skills at home. The partnership between teachers, students, and families are game changing for student success!

Every school year brings changes through retirements, registrations, and new regulations. Our administration continually looks within our talented team to make adjustments that help our staff grow and thrive, both individually and collectively.
We are excited to announce the following leadership changes for the upcoming 2025-26 school year:
Mrs. Nancy Irwin will transition to the role of Carlin Park Elementary Principal

The district will begin its search for a new Principal at Ryan Park Elementary
The extensive experience and knowledge that Mrs. Irwin and Mr. Baut bring to their new roles will ensure our schools remain vibrant environments where students and staff can learn, grow, and thrive.

Hendry Park students spent a morning learning about Angola's History. The 1st grade classes began by meeting Carolyn Powers in the Media Center where they enjoyed a story about Sojourner Truth. Students then bundled up in their coats, hats, and gloves for their walk to the mound. At the mound, they gathered on the front steps of the old courthouse where Louann Holman entertained them with stories about the statues. They discovered interesting facts about Sojourner Truth and our Soldiers' Monument that they're excited to share with their families tonight. #SmallCommunityBigOpportunities #AngolaIn
