The Education Pathway is a unique program that gives our students hands-on experience in the classroom right from the start! šŸ“š Students begin with theoretical lessons and then get the chance to apply their skills as cadet teachers at our local elementary schools. In the classroom, they take on responsibilities like grading papers, teaching lessons, and providing one-on-one instruction. Mr. Baut shared how much he enjoys having the cadets in the classroom and emphasized how appreciated they are by the teachers they assist. Mrs. Clary also mentioned how wonderful it is to see the students respect the cadet's leadership and how the cadet embodies their passion for teaching. A huge thank you to Mrs. Margaret Barge and Ms. Austin Van for their guidance and enthusiasm in leading our cadets toward a bright future in education!

Our schools are fortunate to have amazing opportunities within our community! Here’s a flashback to earlier this school year when our HP 5th graders visited Trine University. During the trip, they had the chance to chat with staff, explore a dorm room, play in the gym, and take part in a fun STEM activity. They even enjoyed a meal in the college cafeteria and, of course, got to meet Storm! #smallcommunitybigopportunities

Tracy Creager leads our budding computer programmers in the computer science pathway, where students dive into key areas like principles of computing, software development, and website & database development. These courses are laying a strong foundation for high-demand careers in tech! We’re also excited that students have the opportunity to take the AP Computer Science exam, where they can earn college credit. A special highlight from last year: Three of Ms. Creager’s students scored a 5 (the highest possible score) on the AP exam — an incredible achievement! šŸŽ‰ Ms. Creager is proud of the dedication and hard work her students consistently put into the class. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!

Susan Simmons instructs our Business, Marketing, and Sales pathway, bringing over a decade of experience and a creative approach to today’s ever-evolving marketplace. With the shift to digital marketing, Mrs. Simmons equips students with the skills to excel in both the virtual and physical business worlds. In class, students don’t just learn the theory—they apply it! For example, one project challenged students to come up with a business idea, design a marketing poster, calculate costs, and plan implementation. But it didn’t stop there—they also got to bring their concept to life by crafting their product out of clay. These hands-on, creative opportunities prepare students to adapt to a wide range of real-world business scenarios. Mrs. Simmons ensures that students stay engaged and ready for whatever the future holds!

Under the guidance of Margaret Barge, our students are exploring the exciting world of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. With over 25 years of teaching experience and advanced certifications, Mrs. Barge is dedicated to providing students with the skills they need to succeed in this dynamic industry. Students in the Hospitality Pathway dive into a variety of subjects, including culinary techniques, hospitality management, nutrition, and more. Through hands-on experiences like cooking classes, they gain real-world skills that will set them up for success. šŸ• (Check out our photos from "Yeast Week," where students tried their hand at making pizza!) By the end of the pathway, students can take the Safe Serve certification exam, opening doors to high-paying jobs and opportunities in the hospitality industry. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our students put into their learning. Stay tuned for more updates on our amazing programs!
