Surprise! Staff brought laughter to the PLC meeting this morning when they showed up dressed like Mr. Baut.

Every school year brings changes through retirements, registrations, and new regulations. Our administration continually looks within our talented team to make adjustments that help our staff grow and thrive, both individually and collectively.
We are excited to announce the following leadership changes for the upcoming 2025-26 school year:
Mrs. Nancy Irwin will transition to the role of Carlin Park Elementary Principal
Mr. Chris Baut will assume the position of Middle School Principal
The district will begin its search for a new Principal at Ryan Park Elementary
The extensive experience and knowledge that Mrs. Irwin and Mr. Baut bring to their new roles will ensure our schools remain vibrant environments where students and staff can learn, grow, and thrive.

Hendry Park students spent a morning learning about Angola's History. The 1st grade classes began by meeting Carolyn Powers in the Media Center where they enjoyed a story about Sojourner Truth. Students then bundled up in their coats, hats, and gloves for their walk to the mound. At the mound, they gathered on the front steps of the old courthouse where Louann Holman entertained them with stories about the statues. They discovered interesting facts about Sojourner Truth and our Soldiers' Monument that they're excited to share with their families tonight. #SmallCommunityBigOpportunities #AngolaIn

The Flags Look Great! Thank you!!

Ryan Park students in Mrs. Clary's class are no strangers to the great outdoors. Throughout the year, Mrs. Clary finds creative ways for students to learn while exploring the campus grounds. When snow blanketed the landscape, her students tracked animal tracks. Recently, the students used their walking sticksāearned through the RP PTO Read-a-thonāto good use as they continued their outdoor discoveries.

Class of 2025 Academic Honors
Valedictorian: Jedidiah Mortorff
Salutatorian: Reese Weber
Top Ten Graduates: Ava Harris, Anna McClure, Trey Soulliere, Quinlan Aldred, Jazlyn Friedel, Drake Webber, Jonathan Hersel, Brooke Shelburne
This high-achieving group of students has not only excelled in Angola High School's challenging coursework but has also pursued academic advancement through dual credit classes offered in partnership with Trine University and Ivy Tech Community College. Dr. Widenhoefer, and the staff of MSCSC congratulate these outstanding students on their remarkable accomplishments and look forward to the bright futures that await them as they take their next steps beyond graduation.

In February 2024, Dr. Schauna Relue presented a proposal to the School Board of Trustees to provide swimming lessons to all 2nd grade students in partnership with the YMCA of Steuben County for the 2024/2025 school year.
"Our community prides itself on having over 101 lakes, but it is up to all of us to ensure that our youth are safe in and around these waters," Dr. Relue explained. According to CDC studies, drowning is the second leading cause of death for youth under the age of 14.
We are super excited that the program has now officially begun, with the first participating school starting their swim lessons on Monday, March 10th. Each school will attend lessons daily for two weeks. Students will spend four days in the water working on basic swimming skills, with one day each week dedicated to water safety education at their school.
Through partnerships with the YMCA, students will receive swim shirts donated by Cameron Hospital and swim bags donated by Fort Wayne Metals. To reduce logistical challenges for families, the YMCA will collect students' wet swim gear after each session, dry it, and store it in their individual swim bags, ready for the next day's lesson.
We know our students are looking forward to sharing their new skills during our warm months. This program represents an important investment in both child safety and life skills for our lake-rich community."

Reminder! Kindergarten Round-up Tomorrow at AHS gym, 8am to 7am. Please use gym doors #21

Mayor Martin visited AHS today for an insightful tour led by Dr. Matt Widenhoefer and Principal Travis Heavin. Together, they showcased the many exciting initiatives at AHS, including our innovative pathways and the unique community opportunities available to students, such as internship placements and the chance to take college courses on Trine Universityās campus. During his visit, the Mayor toured several key areas, including the state-of-the-art manufacturing lab, a classroom stop, the media center which houses Angola University, and the collaborative education classroom.

The parking lot at the high school may look a little emptier tomorrow while the seniors are out job shadowing and doing college visits. The high school plans this day so that the halls are a little quieter for SAT testing that will be happening for the Junior class. Activities are planned in the non-classroom parts of the school to keep the freshman and sophomore busy during the testing window. Good Luck to all our students taking the SAT.
